Re-Entry Permits

If you are holder of an effective Thai visa and you would like to leave Thailand and return back to Thailand during the period of validity of your visa, you have to obtain a re-entry permit.  Re-entry permit is a document that allows you to leave Thailand and return back to Thailand ensuring that your visa continues to be valid and effective.

Leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit invalidates your visa.  Therefore, if you plan to leave Thailand for a certain period of time or just in case (unexpected emergency), we strongly recommend you to obtain a re-entry permit, once your visa has extended to one year.  You can obtain a re-entry permit immediately prior to planned overseas trip.  However, we suggest you to obtain a re-entry permit immediately upon approval of your visa extension.

There are two (2) types of re-entry permits:

1.  single re-entry permit that allows you to leave and return back to Thailand once; and
2.  multiple re-entry permit that allows you to leave and return back to Thailand as many times as you wish

IMPORTANT NOTE

Please be advised that your visa's expiry date shall prevail over the concerned re-entry permit's expiry date.  It means that your re-entry permit becomes not actual, once your visa has expired,
